BRONZE, Stoneware, Porcelain
ABOUT

Born in 1969 in Brussels, Marie M. grew up in Paris. She shares her childhood between France, Belgium and Switzerland in a francophone culture.

With a gallerist grandfather and a painter mother, art has been part of Marie M.'s life since her birth. The passion for clay work takes her in different workshops to learn to master all the techniques of ceramics. She chooses stoneware, porcelain and enamels whose firing at high temperature best matches to daily objects and the tableware, areas in which she begins the work of clay. While practicing the wheel, she focuses more on other techniques (coiling and plaque) which make each of her creations a unique piece.

The visit to her studio of the painter Joaquin Ferrer will trigger the transition to sculpture when he tells her that through her ceramics he "sees" the sculptor. She launches out and it is a new expression that comes out of her hands and that has her full share in her work.
She collaborates with the Chapon Foundry in order to transform each of her sculptures, modeled in sandstone, in bronze, using the lost wax process.

Marie M.'s art revolves around everything related to nature, the depth of feelings and love.
