My grandfather and his close friend Jean Hughes, both passionate about art, owned a gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés called Le Point Cardinal. My mother was a painter. And I, too, have exhibited in town halls, galleries, and art fairs. Doubt being an integral part of any artistic life, I often question the principle of commercializing one's art to make a living. By its very nature, an artist cannot "sell" their work. They can talk about it, perhaps. And even then, it's not straightforward, since they have already said everything through their art itself. But can someone else do it for them? These days, I no longer think so. Or perhaps a sincere and passionate gallery owner. But do such people still exist?...
I believe that acquiring a work of art begins with an emotion, an encounter with it. It's something intimate, a necessary appropriation to continue one's life with the work as a companion, like a support.
And that's why this website is made for: to show you, to offer you my world, my work and my creations, and to let you make an appointment with me in Honfleur in my gallery if you feel like it.
